Our Goat Meat...Only the Best Mother Nature Can Offer!
In our meat goat herd, we focus primarily on Kiko goats and Kiko-crosses for meat products. The Kiko goat was developed in New Zealand as a premier commercial meat breed. Unfortunately, most of the Kiko goats in the United States are raised by breeders that want to sell breeding stock to other breeders of the same mind. This is done with virtually little or no attention paid to the genetic advancement of the breed as a superior commercial meat animal. We learned very early on that a fancy pedigree and a beautiful animal to look at does not necessarily translate into a healthy, productive goat and a superior meat product.
Why Eat Goat?
Goat meat (chevon) is naturally lean and very high in protein and iron. Chevon has a nutritional profile very similar to that of venison or bison. Goat is always a heart-healthy choice when planning a meal. Finding high-quality domestically grown meat product can be a challenge, but it will continue become easier as the demand for chevon continues grow among non-ethnic groups in the U.S.
