We use the milk from our Oberhasli dairy goat herd to handcraft soap using the cold process method. The finest base oils and essential oils are used in the process. We also organically grow the herbs for our soaps. The herbs are dried and freshly ground for each batch of soap.

Making soap is approximately a 6-8 week process. It takes a couple of days to actually mix up the soap ingredients, get the batch molded, and the bars cut. The rest of the time is required to let the bars cure in the air while the chemical reaction completes. Pure, natural glycerine is produced as a by-product of the soap reaction. The glycerine helps moisturize and protect the skin along with the oils in the soap. Most soap produced in the commercial soap industry has had the glycerine removed because more money can be made selling pure glycerine to other industries than leaving it in the soap. That is a major reason why many times after batheing with store purchased bar soap the skin is left feeling tight and dry.
