Many Rocks Farm is located in the beautiful mountains of Washington County, Maryland. The foundation breeding stock for our herd is the Kiko, a true performance breed ideally suited for commercial goat farming. We raise New Zealand, purebred, and percentage Kikos selected for their performance traits not for the pedigrees on their registration papers. Our management system is based upon continuous access to mixed grass pasture, rotational grazing, minimal supplementation, and rigorous culling. The following criteria are used each year to evaluate and further select for the best genetics in our herd:
Parasite Resistance
Great Maternals (easy birthing, strong bonding, and successful weaning)
Performance Data (on-farm weaning and postweaning weight analysis)
Central Performance Testing
Body Length, Depth, and Width (in that order)
Value-Added Goat Products
After spending nearly a decade optimizing our herd and developing our management program for successfully raising meat goats, Many Rocks Farm has branched into offering value-added products through regional events and a local Farmers Market. We sell quality, vacuum-packed, frozen goat meat and several types of delicious goat sausage under our own USDA private label. We also offer handcrafted goat milk soap products made with the milk from our small dairy goat herd and the finest vegetable-based oils we can find. We add herbs to many of our soaps that have been grown organically, dried, and ground right here on the farm.
Many Rocks Farm products are marketed under the tag line:
